Pope John Players to hold annual benefit show Monday

On Monday night, the Pope John Players will present its benefit, “Stomp Out Hunger!” at Pope John XXIII Regional High School. The benefit will start at 7:30 p.m. and it will feature an evening of song and dance numbers performed by current and alumni members of the state champion group.

Spring Concert postponed to Thursday; Auction reception moved to PJMS

Here are a couple of announcements regarding a few events over the next 24 hours:

1) Tonight’s Spring Concert has been postponed again. It will take place Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in the old gym.

2) The 44th Annual Pope John Educational Auction Kick-Off Reception that will happen on Thursday will now take place at Pope John XXIII Middle School’s all-purpose room instead of the Pope John High School courtyard. The reception will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. For more information, please call Melissa Gaston at 973-729-6125 ext. 3046.

3) The Kiwanis Club Scholarship interviews will take place next week. Date and time are TBA.

Principles of Entrepreneurship class throws students in 'Shark Tank,' teaches them real-world business skills

Like the award-winning show that showcases entrepreneurship in America, the Principles of Entrepreneurship class — a new offering at Pope John — allows students to get a feel for what it is like to be a person who starts his or her own business and tries to make it a successful enough company that it can possibly earn potential investments from business tycoons one day.
