Pope John Student Spotlight: Hunter Gallo '20

We at Pope John XXIII Regional High School want to share with you a new series called “Pope John Student Spotlight” in which we recognize our students’ talents and achievements! Today, we want to showcase Hunter Gallo!

Gallo is a junior who is in his first year at Pope John after transferring from Kittatinny Regional High School. Since arriving on campus, Gallo has jumped right into action. He restarted the school’s debate team, which had not competed since 2014, and helped the team compete well against other area schools in the Northwest Jersey Debate League by season’s end. During his time with the debate team, he placed third at the league championship and earned the Dave Berry Memorial award for the debater who has given the most to encourage debate on their team for the league. In addition, he has excelled in the classroom, earning Distinguished Honors while taking courses such as AP Physics, AP U.S. History, and AP English Literature plus Honors Pre-Calculus and Honors Spanish III. Gallo is also an actor for the award-winning Pope John Players theatre group.
