Pope John Student Spotlight: Alex Russo '20

We at Pope John XXIII Regional High School want to share with you our “Pope John Student Spotlight” series in which we recognize our students’ talents and achievements! Today, we want to showcase Alex Russo!

A Sparta resident, Russo is a senior who has shown a great amount of involvement inside and outside of Pope John. Russo is a leader of the senior class and is a member of the Pope John Student Ambassadors, the boys soccer team, the Honors Select Chorus, and the Pope John Den student section. He has earned First Honors in the classroom and is currently taking courses such as AP Human Geography, Honors Economics, Calculus, Exercise Science and Anatomy/Physiology. Russo also volunteers his time with Connect for Community in Sparta, a non-profit organization that is “committed to the basic human right that all people should have access to food & personal hygiene products in an atmosphere of dignity & self-respect.” Next fall, Russo plans to major in Exercise Science and play soccer in college.
