Pope John Student Spotlight: Lucy Campbell '21

We at Pope John XXIII Regional High School want to share with you our “Pope John Student Spotlight” series in which we recognize our students’ talents and achievements! Today, we want to showcase Lucy Campbell!


A Newton resident, Campbell is a junior who embodies the spirit of being a Pope John student inside and outside of the classroom. She has earned Administrative Honors in the classroom and is currently taking courses such as AP English Language, AP Environmental Science, AP Psychology, AP US History, and Honors Great Books III. Campbell has a great interest in Latin, which she has studied well enough to earn a silver medal and a Maxima Cum Laude certificate for being a second-place finisher on the National Latin Exam and take an online AP Latin course this year. Campbell is courteous and respectful, hard-working, and always motivated to succeed. Campbell is the co-president of Pope John’s Light the Candle chapter, which is an organization that provides birthday cards for foster children. Campbell is also a member of the World Language Honor Society, Math Honor Society, academic team, green team, key club, science league, cross country team, and track and field team. She also volunteers her time at as a lifeguard in the summer months.
