Pope John Student Spotlight: Julia Barracato '20

We at Pope John XXIII Regional High School want to share with you our “Pope John Student Spotlight” series in which we recognize our students’ talents and achievements! Today, we want to showcase Julia Barracato!

A Flanders resident, Barracato is a senior who has demonstrated a wide variety of talents inside and outside of Pope John. She has earned Distinguished Honors in the classroom and is currently taking courses such as AP US Government, Honors Economics, Honors English IV, Accounting Principles, Calculus and Statistics. Barracato recently got a chance to do an externship with Mount Olive mayor Rob Greenbaum at the Mount Olive Township building. During the externship, which is part of the AP US Government class, Barracato observed Mayor Greenbaum and learned about the daily inner workings of local government. Barracato is also the president of the Italian Club, a member of the National Honor Society, and a member of the World Languages Honors Society. She also volunteers her time at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton church in Flanders, where she is a peer leader for those receiving confirmation, a member of the teen advisory board, and has been a part of two mission trips with the church. Barracato has a passion for Italian, which she wants to study in college along with accounting and financing.
