SPARTA — Pope John XXIII Regional High School, Pope John XXIII Middle School and Reverend George A. Brown Memorial School have announced the details for Homecoming 2017, which will take place on Thursday, Sept. 21 and Saturday, Sept. 23.

The two days will be jam-packed with fun activities and events for all students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members.

On Sept. 21, Pope John Middle School and Reverend Brown will both be holding a Spirit Day, a day in which students can wear special T-shirts to show off their Lion pride. Later that day, Pope John XXIII Regional High School will hold its Homecoming Dance for students in grades 9-12 from 7-9:30 p.m.

On Sept. 23, the day will begin with a Fun Run and 5K Spirit Run — hosted by Pope John Track — on the high school track. The Fun Run will begin at 8:15 a.m. and it is for children ages 4 and under through 8 years old. The 5K Spirit run will follow at 9 a.m.

Before the 5K Spirit Run, the track and field complex will be dedicated to Mr. Frank Setlock for his tremendous contributions to Pope John and the track and field program.

Then at 1 p.m., the Pope John XXIII Regional High School football team will face Delbarton on the lower turf field. At halftime of the game, there will be a Reunion BBQ in the Pope John Courtyard for class anniversary years ending in 2 and 7.

Immediately following the game, there will be a dedication ceremony for the Coach Paternostro Training Center in the Pope John Courtyard.

The day will conclude with an Open House for Pope John XXIII Regional High School. The Open House will run from 4-6 p.m.
