Pope John announces formation of Pope John Ambassadors

SPARTA — Pope John XXIII Regional High School is excited to announce the start of the Pope John Ambassadors and invites students to apply for this exciting and rewarding experience.

 

After an interview process, those who are chosen will assist with the Pope John admissions process for future lions which includes shadow days, open houses, and accepted students days.  PJ Ambassadors may also have a role in alumni events. 

 

PJ Ambassadors must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

 

Students who wish to apply for this opportunity must submit an application by July 25 at 12:00 p.m.  Applications can be submitted to Pope John (to Mr. Vohden’s attention) or emailed to brianvohden@popejohn.org.  Applications will be reviewed and interviews will begin the week of July 30.  

 

Selected students will be notified the week of August 13.  

 

Other important upcoming dates are August 16 for ambassador training and our welcome reception for new students on August 22.

Pope John Ambassador Job Description

 

Pope John Ambassadors are a select group of students chosen through an application and interview process to assist prospective students in the admissions process, represent Pope John at various events, and assist with shadow days.  The program seeks students from diverse backgrounds who are enthusiastic and who demonstrate exceptional communication and leadership skills.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct tours and partner on shadow days
  • Facilitate presentations at elementary, middle and high schools
  • Assist at open house events
  • Assist at accepted student events
  • Serve as encouraging role models of Pope John
  • Participate in special events as needed

 

Required:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Availability for some evening and weekend activities
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic personality
