Rotunda wins 4th title, Lions boast 7 champs to claim first district crown in 37 years

Senior Jake Rotunda captured his fourth straight district championship and earned the Outstanding Wrestler award, and the Pope John XXIII Regional High School wrestling team produced a whopping seven champions overall en route to winning its first district team title in 37 years at the District 2 Tournament on Saturday at Kittatinny Regional High School in Hampton.

Clarke, Davis spearhead PJ boys basketball to HWS final

Aaron Clarke and Eddie Davis combined for 49 points while directing the Pope John XXIII Regional High School boys basketball team to a 58-53 comeback victory over Hunterdon Central in the Hunterdon Warren Sussex Tournament semifinals on Saturday at Warren Hills High School in Washington Township.

PJ wrestling captures first sectional title in 24 years

The Lions captured the Non-Public, North B championship by downing eight-time defending sectional champ DePaul, 47-16, in the sectional final Friday night in the new gymnasium at Pope John XXIII Regional High School.

Pope John XXIII Regional High School senior wrestler Jake Rotunda became the school’s all-time wins leader on Saturday while picking up three victories during the wrestling team’s sweep of a quad featuring Delaware Valley (Pa.), St. John Vianney and Don Bosco Prep at Pope John XXIII Regional High School.
