Application Process

 

Applying to Grade 9:

 

  • Complete the Pope John XXIII Admission ApplicationFriday, December 13, 2019
  • Submit a copy of School Transcripts — Friday, December 13, 2019
    • Report cards for 6th, 7th and 1st marking period of 8th grade
    • Standardized achievement or aptitude testing scores
    • Student attendance records for 6th, 7th and 8th grade
    • Student disciplinary records for 6th, 7th and 8th grade
  • HSPT COOP Admission Examination
  • Submit a recent and graded writing assignment from a current teacher. The document can be submitted as a PDF, Word doc, or hard-copy
  • Schedule “Lion For A Day” Visit & Interview
 

 Applying to Grade 8:

  • Complete the Pope John XXIII Admission Application — rolling admission
  • Submit a copy of School Transcripts — rolling admission
    • Report cards for 5th, 6th and 1st marking period of 7th grade
    • Standardized achievement or aptitude testing scores
    • Student attendance records for 5th, 6th and 7th grade
    • Student disciplinary records for 5th, 6th and 7th grade
  • Submit a recent and graded writing assignment from a current teacher. The document can be submitted as a PDF, Word doc, or hard-copy
  • Schedule “Lion For A Day” Visit & Interview

Applying to Transfer:

  • Complete the Pope John XXIII Admission Application — rolling admission
  • Submit a copy of School Transcripts — rolling admission
    • Report cards for previous two grade levels & current grade level
    • Standardized achievement or aptitude testing scores
    • Student attendance records for previous two grade levels & current grade level
    • Student disciplinary records for previous two grade levels & current grade level
  • Submit a recent and graded writing assignment from a current teacher. The document can be submitted as a PDF, Word doc, or hard-copy
  • Schedule “Lion For A Day” Visit & Interview

Pope John XXIII Regional High School reserves the right to review applications for transfer into Grades 10, 11, and 12. Although most students enter our community in Grades 8 and 9, we welcome applications from qualified transfer candidates. Admission decisions are based on a review of academic records, the student interview and availability in each grade level. We rarely make exceptions for Grade 12 applications, but will consider candidates on an individual basis. All transfer decisions are subject to a final review of official transcripts from the previous school of attendance. Pope John XXIII Regional High School reserves the right to withdraw an offer of admission should the final review provide information that was withheld by the applicant or applicant's parent/guardian.
