National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921. Membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. NHS members provide peer tutoring every morning and assist with activities at Pope John and in the community.

Juniors with a minimum GPA of 3.75 and a minimum of 60 service hours at the end of the second quarter are invited to apply. Service hours must be documented by the theology teacher by the end of January.
